We all indulge in activities and behaviors that, deep down, we know are bad for us.

I used to smoke a lot of weed – I’d get as high as I could practically every night.

Weed is not good for me. It makes me groggy as fuck the next day. It makes me unproductive, easily aggravated and tetchy. It makes me anxious and argumentative.

So I’ve known for a long time that I should stop smoking.

But I’ve always loved it. Getting high, eating junk-food and watching interesting documentaries was my main way to unwind after a long day.

So for years I’ve believed I’d be better-off without weed but also believed that I loved weed. I saw quitting smoking as a pretty big sacrifice to the greater good.
